The relationship of Belinda Oaten and her husband, Liberal Democrat MP Mark Oaten, is living testament that marriage therapy does in fact work. Mark Oaten had an ongoing affair with a male prostitute for over 6 months before admitting to his wife that he had committed adultery. Belinda said she was plunged into “unimaginable horror� by her husband of 13 years’ disclosures and eventually ran away to Austria.
Despite the grand scale of Mark’s betrayal, it seems that there may be light at the end of the tunnel for the couple. And they owe it all to marriage therapy. She recently told Hello! Magazine that their relationship is now better than it ever was thanks to intensive weekly therapy sessions. They have just returned from a trip to Disney Land and are looking forward to moving on in their lives.
