A dozen counselors with varying specialties left today on an intense professional journey to learn more about how counseling is practiced in Russia. Led by David Kaplan, PhD, the counselors will visit counseling centers, schools and the Russian Psychology Society. They are hoping to “learn… share professional techniques and strategies, and form long-lasting relationships.� The American group has been asked by their counterparts to present the “U.S. approaches to marriage and family counseling, substance abuse, as well as general counseling strategies and interventions.�
