I set my clients at ease in a comfortable setting so that they can first tell their "story" in a nurturing and non-judgmental setting, then begin to focus on what they want to accomplish; setting realistic goals for both personal and professional success. Best of all done with a sense of humor as laughter is the best medicine! I teach that therapy can be fun and as productive as they want it to be where one thoughts and feelings are taken very seriously where what you put in is often what you get out! Cognitive-behavioral theory examines ones "core beliefs" or what we consciously or subconsciously use to drive our decisionmaking. Once "outdated" beliefs are examined and updated, behaviour changes occur. My style is very interactive so one can be a better student of themselves to examine and make better key life decisions. My use of humor, ability to immediately set one at ease, to quickly discern "with" the client growth areas, and then helping to construct appopriate measures for real steps and solutions. I believe this is invaluable to raising one's self-esteem in the first session and onward.
